Fractionating and absorption columns represent a plant made up of a cylindrical steel structure, used for the separation in fractions of crude oil and fuel extrapolation. At the time of extraction, oil is rich in components and hydrocarbons of different molecular weight. In modern refinery plants, refining process is long and requires the use of columns for the fractionation and distillation of crude oil provided by composite structures that perform delicate and complex functions.
Manufacturing splitting columns, we follow specific procedures that allow us to obtain processes for precisely separating substances with a different molecular weight and boiling point such as gas oil, kerosene and naphtha.
Absorption column allows one or more components of a gas mixture to be transferred from the gas to liquid state. This process is necessary to clean up the mixture from all less useful elements for the finished product.
There is a surface that separates the substances inside the column to increase the exchange coefficient of matter from gas to liquid, keeping them in contact with each other. For this purpose, chemical devices are used called gas-liquid contactors.
Among highly technological absorption columns, we prefer "filling column" type that is most suitable for large-scale industrial needs. This particular type of column is filled with the most suitable material to favor the reaction including special ceramic cylinders.
The contact between gas and liquid is continuous and filling process provides a surface on which the liquid flows from top to bottom and the gas moves in the opposite direction. This process causes a constant increase of the material exchange coefficient causing higher performance.
